    National Security Threat by media

Last night I was watching the NDTV News @ 9 and I was shocked to see that NDTV is uncovering the plot of the Intelligence agencies like FBI and CIA to the public in David C Headley case.

    NDTV has very clearly explained the capture of David Headley and Rana through through the internet by FBI and i was shocked to see the security breach triggered from NDTV news now, like;

    1. Why a commoner should need to know the strategic plots of the Intelligence agencies, which risks the security of the nation?
    2. By giving this level of details NDTV is actually alerting the terrorists those who are watching your programs to go for another level of advanced attacks on us in a so called intellectual manner.

We don’t want another scenario where the terrorist where easily able to see the happenings through media during 26/11 attacks and be more strategic on their next step of attacks.

I also wonder whether the news editors have watched the movies like "Wednesday" and "Unnai Pol Oruvan"?

The news channels must have an extra level of editorial screening before broadcasting the news, which deals with nation’s security.

    Where are the whiz kids?

"Recession", "Lay-offs", "No Sal Increments", "Cost Cutting"... ... These are few terms which we are bored of tuning our ears for the past couple of years, the corporate world is exploring all feasibilities of reducing the cost at nook and corners, well does this mean that the grand-children of Aryabhatta & niece/nephews of Vinod Khosla should either hit the bed or be satisfied with fullfilling every day Idlis and Chappathis? A recent summit by NASSCOM says the 75% of our Engineering and 90% of Non-Engg graduates are useless when it comes to Industry requirement. Why is it? Come one folks, it high time we gotta review ourselves and just play a devil's advocate here...

Somewhere at the corner of my RAM, i could flash the data of my past; those are the years of late 90s to early 2000s, every day a whiz kid is exposed, the candidates hired in the corporate sector knows what they are expected in, most of the graduates came out with excellent projects even in their Visual Basic and MS-Access, they burned their mid-nite oils in developing new codes and packages, though it was not taught at their schools, the computers are the wand and the software is their magic, above all -- they chose the right attitude which are broad and open to feedbacks. The reward was certain in terms of hefty packages for all their hard work and smart efforts.

    My dear friends...!!

Choose the right attitude of learning the subject outside the books from u'r schools and lean u'rself to the computers to learn the new technologies. Though u think this recession is a set back to the industry,  i would say this the best time to learn new tech and to keep pilotting those. In reality we haven't faced any recession it's only a slow down which in turn made us to streamline the structure every where even in terms of pay checks and it does provides u good amount thatz required a lot more to u'r survival.

Don't u just keep boasting with u'r high scores in B.E or MBA grads in papers, coz those are nuthin when comes to industry. I agree the basic academics has to be changed, but those are not in the immediate reach. Hence instead blaming the system let's get on to the track and prepare ourselves to the industry and prove the world again, that we will be sustaining on to our growth with pride...

It's high time for us to act and we still can't keep ourselves bounded only to support and testing projects in the industry, coz we are more capable on designing and developing new and changing business needs of the world. Remember... Production Support can never be a bread and butter for a matured organization, it's a part of our daily activities similar to your every morning activities to keep u'r system up in running... we gotta move on to strategic projects which could make our live easier... and we will... and Come on young India... Shangai is steering, Buffalo is gearing... are we still gonna be the hare at the race..?

Talking about Sunil and his team mates won it for his father -Cricket and Sports - MSN India
New Delhi: When India forward S.V Sunil was informed of his father's death during the Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament at Ipoh, his teammates wanted him to return home. But, like the true soldier that he is, he decided to stay back and do his national duty. It was a tough call and the young man from Coorg district of Karnataka, went on to inspire his team to win the cup for the fourth time.

Sunil....!! u really made me shed tears.. Hats Off to u'r courage..!! Now u r a level above Sachin. The Master blaster had a chance to attend the last rites of his Dad and returned to England, but i don't have words to comment on u'r courage... This shows u'r military attitude.

All we need is this type of courage by acheiving the goals despite of any hurdles on our way... May u'r Dad's soul rest in peace and proud...!

    Acheived the Unthinkable...

This is something i was longing for the past 3 yrs, yup... Atlast this year I could make my presence at Microsoft TechEd' 06 on this 15th and 16th, thanks to my Corporate Training Manager Akash Banerjee, and my PM Balaji Sugavanam,  who approved my nomination and participation in TechEd' 06, inspite of myself not being a hard core developer.

There were real lot of cool and interesting sessions like "Extending ASP.NET Provider Model" by my mentorJani (O..Jani..! u cud've taken one more session ..), Atlas by Pratibha, LINQ by Sanjay, Hacker Proofing Your Apps by Vineet ( Vineet, u did a very interesting job..! kudos to u..!) Sharepoint 2007 by Venkat and BizTalk 2006 by Nauzad. All these were very informative and gave me a clear path on wat i shud really focus...

I cannot miss blabering about the TechEd Demo Shoot out and the RockStar challenge game show, which were really interesting and gave everyone chances to win a cool goodies, including an iMate Smart Phone ( O.. no...! god, y didn't i win that iMate..    .. thatz ok, still got lot to go... )

To summarize, TechEd was highly informative (but i really wonder, wat makes Microsoft to charge delegate fee for TechEd, when I could neither make any difference from the MSDN and Product launch events .. ??? Is that just coz, they cover few core concepts, which aren't covered in the MSDN sessions ..??? ), wat ever I'm sure that TechEd helps to Achieve the unthinkable stuffs in the programing world...!

    Love your neighbors; thy yourself...

Humanity comes first than anything else in this world, I just got an oppurtunity today to prove it. I actually had a plan of having fun with friends, but i dropped off the plan, when I came to know that one of my collegues uncle is in serious need of blood for his Open Heart Surgery. Myself being a blood donor for the past 5 yrs, I felt here is some thing which I've to action per the almighty's order. This evening I donated my blood to a fellow human. I pray thy lord to bless him with a good health and long life...

One of my wish after my death is to donate all possible parts of my body to the people who are in need and I also wish to have my skeleton and other remaining parts of my body as study material to the medical students, because I want to live even after my death. I don't want my body to eaten by fire or soil... I hope the almighty fullfills my wish. I write this as my legal will.

"God you gave this body; let this serve for the noble cause of humanity..."

Inorder to make sure that my body serves for the mankind, I'm taking atmost care to give it back the humanity by not having alcohols, nikodins etc. though I'm a computer professional, I take care of my eyes by wearing anti-glare goggles and screens to my PC to make sure that I don't get any eye sight issue, since I want to give it back to the community.

Another things which I consider as my important duties are assisting a poor in education and feeding the people who are in starvation, with god's grace I would continue these duties even after my death, after-all I'm his servant, who obeys his order... he gave me money to distribute to the needy...

P.S: God has also given me the sense of judging and ordered me to help those are genuine in cause, so I sense people. So things are not always taken for granted...!

I make an appeal to this blog readers to serve the humanity for the noble cause upto the level u could...

    Redmond Express - Track cleared...

    Hey Folks,

Let's have a crispy tech-bite for now ... I would like to discuss some work arounds to fix .NET Framework issues. ok, here v go..., I was facing this problem with my .NET Framework 2.0, so i'm going to narate the story abt it.  First leme give u some glossary on this blog, u got to understand few stuffs, which I wud be refering here...

    1. .NET Framework  - Tracks
    2. Win XP SP2          - Platform
    3. VS.NET                - Boogies
    4. Registry               - Ground
    5. Win Installer        - Engine
    6. Win XP Pro           - Station
While I was trying to show a green signal to Redmond Express on my PC..! the train got de-railed, this was because, I accidently tried  to re-lay my track.(i.e. when I was downloading the VS.NET Express editions, i accidently got to re-install the .NET Framework 2.0, from the Express editions downloads) Seems like the Redmond Express had some track violation issues, so it refuse to have my PC as one of it's destination, so I thought of taking of the old tracks off and deployin a new track for the Redmond Express to continue it's journey... Here started the problem...

When i tried to remove the tracks, it refuses to get totally off from the ground, so I explored the ground attributes and tried removing few of those associated key values to our track and I did that. But still i see the track happily hooked up to the platform and refuses to get off.

Here came one of my dudes into the picture and he is Ram, who works for .NET Developer support team at  Microsoft Global Support Center, B'lore. This geek sent me WinFX Runtime Components Uninstall Tool (u can obtain it from http://tinyurl.com/exlfb). Thanks to Ram, after myself running this tool on the platform, it completely took off the tracks.

After going thru this puzzle, now i got to face another challenge, i.e. a challenge in laying back the tracks..!(Does this sounds interesting..??!!  ) mm.. let's c how it is...   When i tried laying the tracks, I got an obstacle staing that there is no updated patch files and it could neither proceed with the installation. Since i got such a kind of error, i assumed that it's asking for a prev version of the Track and tried laying that, but the prev version doesn't fit the platform. Here I'm lost...!  , so posted my query in a forum, unfortunately, i couldn't get a right work-around, one dude suggested me that the issue could even be with Norton Antivirus 2005, so he suggested me to uninstall it.. but i don't think so... he has also suggested  the usual one, i.e. demolishing the Station and re-building it.., i mean DFFR, which i ever hate to do in my life...!

When i was in this confusion, i luckily got to meet Ms. Sneshaa, who works for .NET CLR performace Team at Microsoft, Redmond, she gave me some tips to lay the tracks, prior to that she wants me to remove the platform from the Station.Last nite I did the work around which Sneshaa suggested me to... This is wat i did...,
    • Tried removing the platform, no go... So ran a repair installation on the Station( which removes the platform and also bugs, if any)
    • Got the station renovated by running the repair inst.
    • Imported a fresh copy of the latest version of track from the mother repository(Microsoft Download Site)
    • Installed the fresh copy of track... (yeah... i got it.. oolalala...  )yes, now the track has been layed at the station, i.e. .NET Framework 2.0 has got completely installed in my O/s.
    • Now got the platform back closer to the track, yup.. the SP2 has also got installed in my PC without any issues.
    • Now i got to start my Train on the track, so attached the boogies on my PC... hurray... the green signal is on and now the train started it's journey without any obstacles on it's path. I'm set to go...

Now the VS.NET pograms executes in the desired manner in my PC. Thanks to Sneshaa, Ram and all others from the forum, who took efforts in making the Redmond Express good to go at my destination...!

    Milestone in my Life

Yesterday, Dec' 09 2005 was a remarkable day in my Life, Yes... I mean it, thatz all coz I had the Darshan of my Role Model and thatz none other than "Bill Gates"... I'm one one of those luckiest 5000 IT Pros of the nation who had an wonderful oppurtunity to be present for the Visual Studio 2005 launch event at Bangalore by Mr. Gates. Several times, I heard of him in Televisions, Webcast that he says "Software is a magic", which ofcourse drove me towards Softwares, but yesterday when i heard it live from him about the same and also about when he said "Indians Software Professionals can constantly adopt to the changes and can learn new technologies", i felt some kind of vibration and motivating factor, which pushes me forward to softwares. ( Here I may sound like a gimmick, but these are straight from my heart).  I've got nothing more to ink my thoughts, since I couldn't express my passion in all means...

Bill has also announced a gift for Indian Students, he is going to take one of the students to his Technical Assistant Team, for more details visit http://code4bill.com , so watz more r u students waiting for this is a platinum oppurtunity.. go grab it...!  ( O..! my lord, why did i finish my college... ?  )

Bill was looking quite tiered and he had cold & caugh...( Bill, i guess u shud start u'r Think Week soon, so that u can atleast get physical rest)

Wat ever it could be, I consider Dec'09 2005 as a mile stone in my life and it again made me realize that I've "Miles to go before I sleep..."

Thank u my lord, for giving me an yet another oppurtunity to realize my potential...

    Party Week

I would call last week as "Party Week", on Wednesday, i was in a party at my office, Friday it was a wedding reception party of my colleague Rajkumar, for which I had to travel for 2.5 hrs to reach his place in the car. (Hey..dude Raj, How do u get daily Visa to office from u'r place ? I would never come to work, even if i had been offered a chopper from such a long distance, Don't worry as u requested me, i'll look for a house near my place. Start u'r new life with u'r {new} wife at a new place... )  I wore a sandal-silky Kurta-pyjama to the function and ofcourse I too become center of attraction for a while... , which Raj was bothered, then came back home at 45 to midnight.

Sat'day was a funfilled day for me, from 11 A.M till 4 P.M, went for a shopping at Spencers and lunch with my school friends, I bought a half-sleeved party wear shirt at Navigator stores, it pricked my eyes at the first sight, so I had no other choice than buying it . Eve went for a Team party at Residency Towers, unlike the previous eve's Indian attire, now I'm into western clothing, sleeve-less tights with my denim jackets and jean trousers. The dinner got over by 10:30 P.M, but still the party mood refuse to get off from me, so went to the pub, Bikes & Barrels over there with my colleagues, since i neither booze nor smoke, had couple of mocktails, disced for the hips-hops. One of my colleagues was virgin to pubs and dance floor, so she started puking due to the smokes and alcoholic smells and ofcourse, this is one of the reasons to quickly wind my partweek at 30 to midnight. Anyways I had loads of fun last week, which gave me a relaxation and now it's time to get back to my studies (which i didn't, for the past 1 week  ). Last week also got me an unlimited internet connection to my home, now it's time for me to download reference libraries, applications and come back on track, so techies...! i can start feeding u henceforth...

    Party at Office

Last evening we had a grand gala of Diwali celebration at my office. There were culturals and disc organised here. I enjoyed myself in  disc with sweating, foot tapping steps. Since it was slippery floor, i skided at one point of time;  thank god and to my denim jacket, which guarded me ...  , and it was late in the night, so I had to stay at the dorm and come back to work in the morning.

    AJAX

    Hey Folks,

This is somethin that  interested me, juz have a bite on it... It's none other than AJAX...

Asynchronous JavaScript + XML (AJAX) is essentially a branding term for a bundle of common web technologies. These include JavaScript, DHTML and a utility object called XMLHTTP. The short story is that in combination, these tools reduce the need for web browser applications to reconnect to a web server every time additional data is downloaded.

The means for accomplishing this have been around for quite some time. Suddenly though, and thanks largely to applications like Google Maps, its all the rage.

Not to be left behind, Microsoft has announced project Atlas for ASP.NET 2.0 and for ASP.NET 1.1, we already have Michael Schwarz's Ajax.Net.

According to one Atlas project member, "What we’ve set out to do is to make it dramatically easier for anyone to build AJAX-style web applications that deliver rich, interactive, and personalized experiences. Developers should be able to build these applications without great expertise in client scripting; they should be able to integrate their browser UI seamlessly with the rest of their applications; and they should be able to develop and debug these applications with ease."

Atlas is being developed on top of ASP.NET 2.0 and is slated to contain the following components:

    Atlas Client Script Framework
The Atlas Client Script Framework is an extensible, object-oriented 100% JavaScript client framework that allows you to easily build AJAX-style browser applications with rich UI and connectivity to web services. With Atlas, you will be able to write web applications that use a lot of DHTML, JavaScript, and XMLHTTP, without having to be an expert in any of these technologies.

The Atlas Client Script Framework will work on all modern browsers, and with any web server. It also won’t require any client software installations, only standard script references in the web page.

The Atlas Client Script Framework will include the following components:

    • An extensible core framework that adds features to JavaScript such as lifetime management, inheritance, multicast event handlers, and interfaces
    • A base class library for common features such as rich string manipulation, timers, and running tasks
    • A UI framework for attaching dynamic behaviors to HTML in a cross-browser way
    • A network stack to simplify server connectivity and access to web services
    • A set of controls for rich UI, such as auto-complete textboxes, popup panels, animation, and drag and drop
    • A browser compatibility layer to address scripting behavior differences between browsers.

    ASP.NET Server Controls for Atlas
For ASP.NET applications, a new set of AJAX-style ASP.NET Server Controls will be developed and the existing ASP.NET page framework and controls will be enhanced to support the Atlas Client Script Framework.

The Atlas Client Script Framework will fully support ASP.NET 2.0 client callbacks, but will enrich the level of integration between the browser and the server. For example, you will be able to data bind Atlas client controls to ASP.NET data source controls on the server, and you’ll be able to control personalization features of web parts pages asynchronously from the client.

    ASP.NET Web Services Integration
Like any client application, an AJAX-style web application will usually need to access functionality on the web server. The model for connecting to the server for Atlas applications is the same as for the rest of the platform – through the use of Web services.

With ASP.NET Web Services Integration, Atlas applications will be able to access any ASP.NET-hosted ASMX or Indigo service directly through the Atlas Client Script Framework, on any browser that supports XMLHTTP. The framework will automatically handle proxy generation, and object serialization to and from script. With web services integration, you can use a single programming model to write your services, and use them in any application, from browser-based sites to full smart client applications.

ASP.NET Building Block Services for Atlas
With ASP.NET 2.0 Microsoft have built a set of building block services that make it easy to build personalized web applications. These building blocks reduce the amount of code you have to write for common web application scenarios, such as managing users, authorizing users by role, and storing profiles and personalized data.

With Atlas, these building blocks will be made accessible as web services that can be used from the client framework in the browser or from any client application.

    Client Building Block Services
In addition to DHTML, JScript, and XMLHTTP, the Atlas project is looking at other services that allow websites to harness the power of the client to deliver an enriched experience.

The local browser cache is an example of such a service. When enabled, websites can store content in that cache and later retrieve it efficiently. The problem is that there is no API from the browser to store data in the cache. With Atlas, the plan is to provide programmable access to a local store/cache, so that applications can locally cache data easily, efficiently and securely.

The Atlas team are additionally looking at other hooks into local applications and resources. These will be defined in more detail as the project matures.
